Winter is just around the corner in Zieleniec. Final preparations are underway for the start of the ski season — snow production from factories has already started on the slopes, and the station is just waiting for the first frost to launch cannons.
I can already feel winter in the air. Mornings under Orlica are getting colder and colder, and the slopes of Zeleniec are slowly becoming covered with the first snow. For now, still technical, but for us it is already a sign that the big countdown to the start of the season has just begun. Preparations for winter in Zieleniec are entering a decisive phase. For several days, intensive snow production has been going on on the slopes from our factories, which were launched in anticipation of the first frost and the possibility of starting the entire cannon system.
Snow factories are in full swing
Zieleniec has had one of the most modern snowmaking systems in Poland for years. Thanks to it, we can provide ideal conditions during the season even with a more difficult aura, regardless of the prevailing temperatures. Three of our snow factories are now in operation:
- one Snow Pro with a capacity of 210 m³ of snow per day,
- and two Snow Pro with a capacity of 100 m³ each.
They are complemented by a powerful infrastructure: snow cannons, lances and a cold storage system that allows to lower the temperature of the water used to produce snow. All this together means that Zieleniec can provide a solid snow base, ready for the intense start of the season, regardless of the weather.
Snow already on the slopes
Snow from the factories goes mainly to Gryglówka (railway G1) and Winterpol (railway W3). There it is collected in the form of large heaps, which protect it from melting. Such “storage” is a proven way to minimize losses and ensure a supply of snow for the start of the season and for its duration.
Before all the lifts start, the accumulated snow will be evenly distributed over the slopes and mixed with snow from the cannons and - hopefully - the natural one. We estimate that in total there will be approximately 12—13 thousand cubic meters of snow (from factories), which will allow a safe and comfortable start to the season.
Thanks to such preparations, even if the weather is capricious, Zieleniec will again become one of the first ski resorts in Poland, which will officially open in winter 2025/2026 - and this will probably happen at the beginning of December.
The last bell for cheaper passes
Everything indicates that there is less than a month left until the opening of the season. Therefore, if you do not have a pass yet, it really last moment, to buy it at a promotional, pre-sale price. Soon, queues will start at the ticket offices, and prices will return to regular levels. Therefore, it is worth taking advantage of these last days and stock up on ski passes that will provide you with a maximum of winter emotions for a reasonable price.

Time to get in shape before winter
Also, do not forget about the conditioning preparation - it is also the last bell to work on the form before the first meetings. Even a few weeks of regular exercise, stretching and light strength training will make you feel more confident, safe and simply more enjoyable on the slopes.
The winter season in Zieleniec is fast approaching. Soon we will again hear the whistle of skis, the sound of working lifts and, hopefully, the sound of crunching frost underfoot. For now, of course, we have not yet announced the opening date. However, as soon as the forecasts stabilize at the level we expected, we will fire the cannons and we will preach to everyone that we invite you to the new ski season under Orlica. Be vigilant!
