Observation tower on Jagodna

Greenery — cheers!
Excitement for exclusivity
Much more than a macro
(Micro) climate and (macro) emotions — what more could you want?

From the article you will learn about:

  • How to get from Zieleniec to Jagodna on foot or by bike
  • Why the observation tower on Jagodna is one of the best panoramic points in the region
  • What singletrack bike routes were run around the summit

Strawberry. The highest elevation of the Bystrzyckie Mountains, forming part of the Crown of the Polish Mountains, but also the name of the shelter located on the Spalona Pass. While in Zieleniec, it is worth going there on a walking, car or better cycling trip. ‍

alone Jagodna peak, which has a height of 977 m above sea level., is not among the very prominent - looking at this massif from a distance, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly its highest place. However, this does not mean that it is not worth choosing Jagodna. In addition to a pleasant walk from under the shelter, an indisputable attraction is the observation tower located at the top, which is one of the best viewpoints in the entire Kłodzko Region. In good weather, you can see almost all the Sudeten ranges from the Giant Mountains in the west to the Czech Jeseniki in the east. Particularly attractive are sunrises or sunsets, when the panorama makes a truly thunderous impression.

From Zeleniec to Jagodna on foot

It is definitely a big challenge primarily because of the distance and option for hikers seasoned in mountain battles. 23 kilometers one way is a distance that can be covered in one day, but if we plan to return to Zieleniec, we must take care of the condition and plan the trip well. The time spent on the trail, counting without breaks, is about 12-13 hours and more than 46 kilometers, which is really quite a challenge.

On Jagodna by bike

A real treat for cycling enthusiasts and in two variations because on Jagodna you can go both in the traditional way - road (under the shelter) and mountain routes. In both cases, it is a dozen kilometers requiring a ride leading to the most beautiful and less popular corners of Lower Silesia.Especially driving along the so-called Sudecka highway on the section Zieleniec - Mostowice will provide beautiful views of the wetlands located primarily on the Czech side and the peaks of the Orlicky Mountains rising above them.If we have a bike adapted for riding in the mountains, beautiful, recently donated single tracks were led around Jagodna as part of the project Glaciensis Singletrack.

Two routes - Blueberry Blue and Blueberry Red - make for a total of 14 kilometers of an easier but extremely attractive ride amidst lush nature. The loop begins and ends right at the PTTK Jagodna shelter. Regardless of the way to reach the top, it is worth remembering about the observation tower located there and, of course, the fact that Jagodna belongs to the elite group of the Crown of the Polish Mountains, which can be completed during your stay in Zieleniec. In addition to Jagodna, Orlica (the highest peak of the Orlice Mountains) and Szczeliniec Wielki, the highest elevation of the Table Mountains, are also within walking distance, as we wrote about in this article.
