Summer is fast approaching. Actually, considering the temperature and the aura that reigns outside the window, summer has actually come to us. Have you thought about where you will spend your holiday this year? Any of the warm countries? Or maybe the beautiful Polish sea. Or maybe the mountains and the equally beautiful Zieleniec and its surroundings in summer?
Maldives, Cuba, Morocco and thousands of other destinations. Everywhere is unquestionably beautiful. Everywhere, rest combined with the option to visit these fascinating corners of the world is a great idea to spend your holidays. But do places hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away always have to be the only right direction? But from where. Not only that, it does not even have to be the most popular places in Poland. There are still many places on the map of our beautiful country that do not rank in the rankings of the most popular resorts, but have to offer tourists as many attractions as those that do not come off the first pages of tourist magazines and holiday portals.
Greenery in summer — silence, nature and zero crowds
One such place is Zieleniec. In summer, a resort tucked away at the foot of the Orlickie Mountains, whose popularity increases with the first snowfalls of the season. But when at the turn of April and May the white fluff melts leaving the slopes of Zeleniec, a beautiful land is revealed full of attractions, delicious views and a microclimate unique in the whole region.

The perfect place for a family holiday
Zieleniec is an ideal place to spend a holiday with the whole family. The mountains surrounding the resort are not very demanding, which, of course, does not relieve us of the obligation to move around them responsibly. Orlickie Mountainsand above all Bystrzyckie are tens of kilometers of beautiful trails, with wild nature in many places and incredible views stretching to the horizon. Importantly, this perspective is mostly not hampered by the effects of human activity - the lack of extensive infrastructure or large buildings that spoil the climate.
You can get to the ridge of the Orlickie Mountains not only on foot. A real attraction, especially for younger guests of Zieleniec, is the opportunity to ride one of the railways active in summer - Gryglowka and Nartorama in the period from July to early September they run daily from 10:00 to 18:00, and on some days even until 20:00. The detailed timetable of the Zieleniec railways is available at this link.
Accommodation base Zieleniec offers tourists a dozen boarding houses, hotels and accommodation of varying standard. Everyone will certainly find the right one for themselves. Importantly, most of them are geared towards welcoming families with children, offering additional attractions and special stay offers. It is also worth tasting the local cuisine, which is a tasty mix of traditional dishes from countries on both sides of the border enriched with delicious dishes of the Alpine countries.
Mountain trails, wild bogs and trout from the fishery
The attractions of Zieleniec and its neighboring towns, towns and villages are truly limitless. In the resort itself, it is primarily wild and IncredibleTorfowisko pod Zieleńcem, kilometers of mountain trails, trout fishing, and for the more demanding - one of the largest disc golf courses in Europe. It is worth, of course, to look into the nearby shelters - Orlica and Masarykova Chata, whose history dates back to pre-war times.
Tourists looking for longer mountain escapades should be recommended excursions along the ridges of the Bystrica or Orlice Mountains. The former will lead us to the Spalona Pass and the charming Jagodna hut, while the latter to the chain of military fortifications and bunkers that the Czechs built even before the war in fear of attack from the Third Reich. The history of these lands is, moreover, a separate chapter, to which it is worth devoting more than one evening. There are many places in the Bystrica Mountains that once longed for life, today leaving only small traces of human presence and activity.

But Zieleniec is also an excellent place for active recreation, in close contact with nature. Rancho Grylowka offers horseback riding along mountain ridges, which, given the lush nature, can be compared to a trip through a truly fairytale land. But the same routes around Zieleniec can be traversed on a mountain bike. The varied terrain offers the possibility of both steeper descents and ascents, as well as quiet rides on, for example, the Sudetska Autostrada (which, however, is demanding in many places anyway).
A microclimate that really works
There is another attraction that definitely distinguishes Zieleniec on the map of Sudeten resorts. This is a specific microclimate, causing increased production of red blood cells and extremely clean air. The resort is so far from larger cities that it is not bothered by pollution and exhaust gases produced in agglomerations. All this gives the opportunity for real regeneration of the body and effective rest, which, as you know, during the holiday is the most desirable thing today.
