Such a direction can be Zieleniec and its picturesque surroundings, where an extended May weekend will certainly be the ideal opening of the summer holiday season.
The season of sports activities lasts in Zieleniec 365 days a year. All that changes are the equipment, the perspective, and, nevertheless, the temperature. The surroundings of the Orlickie and Bystrzyckie Mountains are dream areas for practicing sports of various kinds. Above all, however, thanks to the unique microclimate and the absence of the typical bustle of many resorts,Greenery is synonymous with peace and a truly effective holiday.
To the most beautiful panoramas of the Sudetenland
One day of your stay in May can be spent on mountain hikes. Apart from the beautiful trails, which at this time of year are rapidly thickened with lush greenery, several observation towers have been built in the area over the past years. In good weather, the panoramas spread from them fall off your feet.Tower on OrlicyThe observation tower on Orlicy (1084 m above sea level), the highest peak of the Polish part of the Orlice Mountains, is one of the most popular places in the region. The building was erected on the site where the first wooden structure stood at the beginning of the 20th century. The modern tower is more than 25 meters high and offers spectacular panoramas towards the Central Sudetenland, the Snow Maiden Massif and, with good visibility, even the Giant Mountains.

Tower on Velká Deština
On the Czech side of the border there is another attraction — the observation tower on Velká Deština (1115 m above sea level), the highest peak of the Orlice Mountains. After a thorough renovation in 2021, it has become one of the most recognizable tourist spots in the region. Beautiful views of the Polish and Czech Sudetenland ranges from here.

Tower on Jagodna
Although the Jagodna peak itself (977 m above sea level) does not impress with its prominence, it hides a real treasure: a modern observation tower from which, in good weather, you can admire the panorama of the entire Sudetenland — from the Giant Mountains to the Bohemian Jesenices. The easiest way to get to the top is from the Jagodna hut on the Spalona Pass, from where a pleasant hiking trail leads. Especially recommended are cycling trips, which allow you to fully feel the atmosphere of the area. For persistent walkers there is also the possibility to get from Zieleniec — however, 23 kilometers one way is an offer for really seasoned tourists, requiring good condition and careful planning.
By bike for adventure
For many years, after the snow cover has come down, Zieleniec has been building its increasingly strong position also in the cycling world. Picturesque routes, both mountain and road, Family Bike Park or Singletracks will surely satisfy two-wheelers of all ages and levels.

Zieleniec offers a network of well-prepared cycling routes of varying difficulty. Here you will find both light trails for families with children and more demanding routes for avid mountain bikers.
For families with children, the ideal place will be Family Bike Park Zieleniec. It is a specially prepared complex of “flow trails”, which are safe, gentle and adapted to any level of advancement. The descents are full of gentle curves and light obstacles that provide fun for both the little ones and adults. The Family Bile Park will be available from May 1-4 and on the following May weekends (Saturday - Sunday) during the working hours of the cable cars.
After the descents in the Family Bike Park you can successfully go on one of the guided SingleTraks in the area. We have four loops here: Orlicka, Sołtysia, Widokowa and Gajów. They are part of the larger Singletrack Glacensis project, covering the entire Kłodzko Land, as part of a total of 23 loops of varying difficulty and one two-way section. Their total length is as much as 260 km! So there really is a lot to choose from.
Tour de Zieleniec — by bike not necessarily in the mountains
However, if you are not passionate about mountain bikes, nothing to lose. Do you have a highway? We will not leave you in need. The 23-kilometer loop to Dusznik-Zdrój or the 85-kilometer Tour de Ziemia Kłodzko will certainly not disappoint you. Quite a good surface and fabulous views will remain in your memory for a long time. Just like fatigue...
What distinguishes us on the map of the whole of Poland...
is a unique microclimate. However, this does not only mean that it is simply fun in Zieleniec. Nature has gifted us with an absolutely extraordinary thing, which is in vain to look for in other mountain regions of the whole of Poland. It is a truly alpine microclimate, thanks to which Zieleniec deserves the name of a natural health resort, whose health benefits are enjoyed by both athletes and people seeking physical and mental regeneration.

The uniqueness of Zieleniec is primarily influenced by the specific terrain, the arrangement of air masses and the altitude (about 800—960 m above sea level). These factors create conditions close to alpine, which means crystal clear air, low humidity and reduced atmospheric pressure. In such conditions, the body naturally increases the production of red blood cells, which results in better oxygenation of tissues, faster regeneration and overall improvement of well-being.
Staying in Zieleniec is especially recommended for people suffering from respiratory diseases, such as asthma or pulmonary insufficiency. Crisp, clean air, virtually free of pollutants and allergens, promotes lung regeneration and alleviates the symptoms of many chronic diseases. It is also a great place for people struggling with various types of allergies. The low concentration of allergens in the air and its high purity reduce the risk of allergic reactions and support the regenerative processes of the skin.
A microclimate that works
Zieleniec is above all a refuge for people who are tired, stressed and struggling with nervous problems. The microclimate promotes relaxation, calming the nervous system and improving the quality of sleep. A stay of just a few days allows you to calm the body, reduce tension and clearly improve mental well-being.The issue of microclimate and its beneficial effect on the human body is described in detail by Prof. Marek Zatoń from the Wrocław AWF in a podcast, which you can listen to at this link.
