You usually get to Zieleniec itself by car, and at the height of the summer season you also use the Dusznicki Express. However, it is also worth considering another solution. Especially on a day when the weather is beautiful.
Walking tour to Zieleniec from Dusznik-Zdrój is a few hours long, beautifully guided walk, during which there will be no shortage of attractions and curiosities. It is an excellent idea to spend an active spring or summer day, which can be additionally enriched by visiting other attractions in the city itself.
Start on the market in Duszniki - Zdroj
As a starting point we take the charming Dusznice market, while it is worth paying attention to the beautiful townhouses that surround it. At the beginning, we head down Mickiewicz Street towards the Spa Park (from here the red trail will lead us), which after a while passes into the avenue named after the most famous Polish composer (Chopin of course), and although the trail itself just in front of Chopin's Manor bounces to the left (yellow signs), it is worth spending the dozen minutes to visit this manor again and its beautiful and colorful surroundings.

To the shelter for tea!
The yellow trail now leads us to the Shelter pod Mouflon, passing along the way the Franciscan Church in Duszniki (built in 1926 in the neoclassical style - this place is also worth visiting). A more concrete approach awaits us now (about 150 meters of vertical elevation difference), which should take about 40 minutes. The shelter itself is a rather stormy story, which began in the 19th century, when the first object in this place was built. In later years, it declined somewhat in importance, but at the turn of the century its popularity gradually increased, which was largely helped by the toboggan track, which was demolished only in the 70s of the 20th century. The hostel itself, from before which there is a beautiful panorama of the Dusznickie and Table Mountains, probably finally found an idea, offering tourists first of all mountain atmosphere, atmospheric accommodation and homely and mountain cuisine. It is an excellent place for a longer rest during the trip.

Duktami of the Bystrich Mountains
From the shelter we follow the blue signs that will lead us for about 90 minutes through the forest duct to the so-called Justyna Road, where we will again have the opportunity to rest for a while. However, before this happens, we will pass the so-called Dragon's Throat, which is the place where mining and metallurgy began to develop in the 13th century.
Through swamps and sinkholes
Another hour of walking (further with blue signs) will lead us to Twardego Source - a place where we will turn right towards Torfowiska pod Zieleńcem - one of the more unusual places in the whole area (you can read more about the Torfowisk itself in the article available herein). Important: this is where the color of the trail changes - now we will follow the green one.

Towards the Greenhouse!
We continue our walk behind the green signs. After 30 minutes we cross the road from Dusznik to Zieleniec (watch out for cars!) and we follow a path that is gaining more and more height. This is the most difficult moment of the trip - we will have to overcome almost 180 m of difference in elevation (that is, harder uphill), which should take about 45 minutes. However, the reward is not far away - a longer rest and a well-deserved dinner in one of the restaurants in Zieleniec, to which will be added a beautiful panorama towards the Massif Śnieżnika. The entire route from Dusznik to Zieleniec is approximately 5 hours of walking at an average pace, assuming good weather and favorable weather conditions. Although the tour is not technically difficult, it is necessary to check in advance the weather forecast and, above all, the threat of fog and possible storms that occur especially in the mountains in spring and early summer. It is also worth taking care of the right provisions, especially the right amount of liquids and caloric snacks.
